One the eve of the transition of presidential power, the future leader of U.S.A. had a day of service. With less than twenty-four hours until he is sworn into office as the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama participated in a number of community volunteer projects. With visits to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, an emergency shelter for homeless teenagers, and the Calvin Coolidge High School, the future Commander-in-Chief represented the spirit of giving back and service to his people.
On the day for the birthday celebration of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama and Martin Luther King III encouraged the young teens that their potential is endless, with the enlightening words of Dr. King: "everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." What a great appeal of action on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision.
Barack Obama will reach the epitome of all great feats in the U.S. government in not only becoming the next President, but in being the first Black President of the Nation, once sworn in.
His ideals have the most valuable foundation, which he will share in his inaugural speech. His message about our responsibility era and the need for service will be the highlight to people across the country and around the world.
With a mother from Kansas and his father from Kenya, Obama is unbiased to the needs of the people. As he becomes the President tomorrow, on the same lot of land that slaves were sold, there will definitely be a moment of redemption and a renewal of the dream.
