Oh boy... The justice system has finally gotten Madea!
In Madea Goes To Jail (director: Tyler Perry) Madea has gotten down on her luck, and the in-your-face grandmother ends up in jail.
The director, writer, producer, and actor Tyler Perry is far from walking in Madea's shoes. This being Perry's seventh successful film with Lions Gate Entertainment, fans can only expect a gut-bursting hit.
Madea Goes to Jail opens in theaters nationwide on February 20th. The film will feature Tyler Perry as Madea, Derek Luke, Keisha Knight Pulliam (bka little "Rudy Huxtable"), and the young and talented KeKe Palmer.
Tyler Perry is a new force to be reckoned with in Hollywood, behind the scenes of many successful projects and in front of the lens. He will be making the first cameo outside of his own creative projects in the upcoming 2009 film Star Trek, at the request of the director, J.J. Abrams . In production now, is Perry's own romantic/drama revolving around the Second World War, A Jazz Man's Blues, due for a late 2009 release.
With his films costing around $10M to make and grossing, on average, $47M... Perry is definitely doing something right!! Other than selling more than 11 million in DVD sales of staged plays and films, recently opening the first African-American owned studio in the country, achieving four no. 1 films, the TBS half-hour sitcom House of Payne, and another one (Meet the Browns) in the works, the sky is the limit for Perry!!
